Our Beliefs
We Believe in the Holiness Doctrine. Full Gospel, Pentecostal, Trinitarian
What We Believe
01.
— The Scriptures
The scriptures, both the old and new testaments, are the inspired, authoritative, and infallible word of God.
At Trinity Holiness Church of God, we only use the King James Version of the Holy Bible.
(2 Timothy 3:15-17; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Peter 1:21)
02.
— The Trinity
The Godhead consists of God, the Father, Jesus Christ, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, proceeding from both. The three being distinct, yet acting in one accord and of one will.
(John 1:18; 5:17-30, 32, 37, 8:17, 18, 15:26, 17:11; Zechariah 14:9)
03.
— Salvation
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Salvation has been purchased through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Salvation is received through repentance towards God and faith in Jesus Christ.
(Luke 24:47; John 3:3, 3:16; Romans 10:13-15; Ephesians 2:8, 4:24; Titus 2:11-12, 3:5-7)
04.
— The Resurrection
“Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live“
Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins; and on the third day, he rose from the dead. His blood was shed for the remission of our sins. And through his resurrection he conquered death and the grave.
(John 11:25; Matthew 27:32-50, 28:1-6)
05.
— Works of Grace
At Trinity Holiness Church of God, we are believers in the Holiness Doctrine.
As such, we believe in the 3 Works of Grace: Salvation, the baptism in the Holy Ghost, and Sanctification.
(1 Corinthians 12:4-10, 28; Romans 12, 2; 1 Thessalonians 5:23; Hebrews 13:12)
06.
— Spiritual Gifts
The Holy Bible describes Spiritual Gifts, available to believers following the baptism of the Holy Ghost. The baptism of the Holy Ghost is evidenced by the initial physical sign of speaking in other tongues.
The Spiritual Gifts are Tongues and Interpretation, Divine Healing, Prophecy, Discernment, Wisdom, and Faith and Miracles.
(1 Corinthians 12:8-10)
07.
— Marriage
Holy Matrimony is a sacred union between a man and a woman. Same sex unions or relationships are contrary to God’s Word. The Church does not perform or recognize same sex marriages.
(Genesis 1:27-28, 2:21-25, 3:20, 19:1-11; 1 Corinthians 7:14, 8-11; Romans 1:21-28)
08.
— The "Rapture"
“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”
The second coming of Christ includes “the catching away” or Rapture of the saints, followed by the visible return of Christ with His saints to rein over the earth for one thousand years.
(John 14:3; Zechariah 14:5; Matthew 24:27, 30; Revelation 1:7, 19:11-14, 20:1-6)
09.
— The Final Judgement
“…the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works…And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”
There will be a final Judgement in which the wicked dead will be raised and judged according to their works.
(Revelation 20:11-15)
